The more we learn about Foxconn the more I sympathize with the company. Obviously there is always room for improvement, but it seems like they are a manufacturer that is trying to do right by it’s employees. I’m not saying that it’s altruistic just that they seem to have realized that if they treat their employees right then they can produce a better product. I’m guessing this is why Apple chose them in the first place.
Most Apple products come with a 1 year warranty and they have extended that warranty for me a few times when “it should have lasted longer”. If we really want to do something about the conditions of factory workers in China perhaps we should be looking at the companies that don’t care if their product breaks 2 weeks after the 90 day warranty expires.Permalink
